Did a trip out to Redfern near Pink Mtn last week.
I bought the mapping pack. Its half the price of the BC mapbook so why not?
Before I went I downloaded the area at maximum detail.
The detail blew me and my partner away. It shows seizmic lines from the 1940s
that you can walk on to make bush wacking a bit easier. The iPhone GPS chip is good
hardware. The little blue pulsing dot moved across the terrain with me as I was walking.
The Redfern atv trail was shown in perfect detail. Even some of the little 400 meter side roads were on this map. If youve been there then you know what I"m talking about.
Small ponds the size of my garage are even shown.
Dont know how its done, but the detail won me over.
Downloading the maps for large areas in fine detail does take time.
Its worth it when your out in the bush.
IMO, Im glad I held out and did not spend $700 on a Garmin Montana and the BC map package.
